Well, Drew had the highlight of his young life thus far this weekend when we were in Indianapolis visiting Tim's family ... he got to "drive" a police car! Tim's sister, Christine, is engaged to Joe -- who is a police man and he has a real-life police car. On Saturday morning, Joe took Drew out to the car and let him push all of the buttons -- turning lights and sirens on and off, speak into the loud speaker, and "drive" around their culde-sac. He was so happy! And it was adorable.
Later, when we were getting ready to leave, and we were in the driveway, Drew looked at the car and said, "I love p-eace car" ... it was so stinkin' cute. He loves the police car! I must admit that when he said it, my heart broke a little because he has never volunteered an "I love ..." before. Sure, he has said I love you when we tell him to, or sometimes when we say it to him he will reply back that he loves us, too, but he has not just said, "I love you, Mama" or "Love you, Daddy". Let the record state, however, that he does love the police car! It makes me excited for the first time when he just says it out of the blue to me. :) Check out the pictures of his "drive". Thanks, Uncle Joe, for making his weekend!!
