7 Months, 2 Weeks, 5 Days and 20 Hours ...
It didn't take long. Nope, not long at all ... just 7 months, 2 weeks, 5 days and 20 hours for Drew to officially choose Tim over me. Let me say that this did kill my heart a little. It made me especially feel bad for Tim and all of those times that Drew chose me over him. What is true is that Drew loves his daddy! Thank God for that.
Awwwww, Crap!
Okay. So it has happened to us two times so far -- two times! We are giving Drew a bath, playing, cleaning and having fun when all of the sudden he gets squirmy ... very squirmy ... pooping squirmy. Let me just say that you cannot pull him out fast enough! Both times that it has happened, we have had to pull him out, rinse him down, drain the tub, put all of his toys in the "hazardous" pile to wash later, wash down the tub, fill it back up, put Drew back in, re-wash him, get a new towel because we inadvertently got poo on his fresh, clean one, rinse him and hope we can get a diaper on him before he decides to go more. It is hectic, crazy, gross and ... well, laughable. If you would have seen Tim holding a poopy, wet Drew at arms length while I tried to get everything cleaned and ready for Drew's second bath of the half-hour you would have busted a gut. At the time, Tim and I weren't laughing -- but we did later. :) Parenting is not a job for the faint of heart!

Mmmmmm! Delicious ... Solid Foods
I have definitely been lax in "blogging" ... and since this is my way of keeping memories of this time, I have a lot of catching up to do! Suffice it to say that Drew is eating solid foods, now. He started with rice cereal and his first vegetable was peas -- he loves peas! Since he began (at around five months of age -- he had rice cereal on March 28), he has enjoyed all sorts of fruits, vegetables and oatmeal. So far, he dislikes spinach and bananas, but we will keep on introducing those things to him as we progress. His favorite things now are Puffs and teething biscuits. Teething biscuits are very fun for him -- but not for Mom and Dad as cleaning him up is a big job -- usually requiring a bath. Here are some picture of him eating solids ...

The First Mother's Day
I ushered in my first official Mother's Day in the most wonderful and beautiful way possible ... rocking my little boy in my arms. Now, we are very lucky when it comes to Drew's sleeping habits. Typically, when we put him down around 7:00 at night, he is out for the night. He sleeps very well and it is a true blessing to be able to sleep through the night. On Mother's Day Eve, however, Drew woke up crying pretty hard. If you are a parent, you can attest to knowing the difference between an "I'm crying out in my sleep, but I am still asleep" cry and the "I am awake and need some attention" cry (definitely a learned skill). This night was the latter. So, around 11:45 p.m., Drew cried out and I was the lucky one that got to calm him down. It was beautiful ... sitting quietly in his fabulous nursery, rocking him. He kept reaching up to my face, sucking on his pacifier and smiling at me. After a few minutes, he feel back asleep -- which is one of the most peaceful moments you can ever experience as a parent. So, I just rocked him and watched him sleep and ushered in my first Mother's Day. It was one of those moments that I do not ever want to forget.
Tim and Drew really worked hard to make my day special -- and they were very successful (even surprising me with a Wii Fit!). It was a beautiful and honoring day -- the perfect first Mother's Day a girl could ask for!
