41 Weeks ... And Counting
We are really praying that Baby Liby will come without induction, as God has already ordained the time of his/her first breath. Please pray that my body will start labor on its own, and that we all will be safe. No lie, it is a bit scary facing labor -- especially for the first time! I get super nervous just trying to prepare for what to expect! Then I remember all of the verses that God has given me, and I begin to calm down ... ahhh ...
Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, in prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God and the peace of God, which transcends all understanding will guard your hearts and minds in Christ
or
I can do all thing through Christ who gives me strength ...
to just name a few that swirl through my head.
I really thought that we might be facing the real deal on Wednesday when I woke up at 4:00 a.m. feeling not so good and crampy. However, it turned out not to be the real deal, and here I sit -- still pregnant! :)
In other news, I finished working on Wednesday, too -- what a blessing. It is awesome being able to relax at home, get some things done, etc.
On an even better note ... the Master Bedroom is done! Finished! Fabulous! Again, my husband did fabulous work, and I am amazed at his skills. We finished it last week, with great and much assistance from Grammy Rose -- wow! It looks so beautiful -- and it feels soooo good to be sleeping in the Master Bedroom for the first time! We still are adding some decorations, but the actual work is over.
You know what that means, don't you?! That means that the Matursery Project is actually done -- and all before Baby Liby appeared! How exciting. A special thank you goes out to the people who helped us get here ... Grammy Rose, Grampy Fred, Grandma Marci, Auntie Anne, Uncle Jeffie, Uncle Micah, Trevor Landon, Mike Huber, Cooper ... and anyone else that I cannot think of off of the top of my head. We so appreciate the support, both physically and verbally! Thank you!
And, to my husband: Tim, you are amazing! I love to see your visions fulfilled. I thank you from the bottom of my heart for all of your hard work and for hanging in there even when I was ready to throw in the hammer. I love you, and Baby Liby is lucky to have you as Daddy.
Well, that is all for now from this side of the due date ... keep checking back -- you never know when a picture of Baby Liby will appear!
Love,
Katie

As Promised ... The Pictures
Grampy Fred did get his cast off, and got a walking cast put on, but he still can't put his full weight on his leg since it is not completly healed, yet. He can only put a little bit of weight on it, and then in four weeks, he goes back to see if it is healing more. If so, great! If not, then that means surgery -- not the option we want! Please pray for God's healing, as He is in utter control of Grampy Fred's body.
Okay, now on to the pictures:

Okay, I'll be adding more later, so check back!!
Drum Roll Please ... The Nursery Is ...
Okay, well, we have a few more decoration things to do ... like getting up the blinds/curtains, some shelves, etc., but construction is done. The Masterusery project is now just the Master Bedroom project -- and we are hoping to have that done this weekend. Wow! If Baby Liby will just cook for a little bit longer, we should be good to go.
We love the Nursery, and I will post pictures soon -- I just forgot my camera (stink!!). For real, I am pretty sure the room should be featured in a magazine! Auntie Anne, Uncle Jeff and Grammy Rose were all around this weekend helping us with the finishing touches, cleaning and setting up the furniture. I can't wait for you to see it! Uncle Micah and Aunt Brandi came up on Friday and Uncle Micah, Uncle Jeff and Tim all worked on getting the closet done (thanks, all of you -- without you, well, it would still be the Masterusery project). I mean it -- we LOVE the room. We just go in there and sit and look around. I am so proud of Tim -- he did such a fabulous job ... Baby Liby's dad is a genius!
Last night was super cute! We were both in the nursery, cuddling in the chair and Tim read to Baby Liby for the first time (Guess How Much I Love You). It was priceless! I hope to never forget that moment ....
So very much has happened since I posted last. I am sorry for the delay. I know many of you check regularly. I want to update regularly, but we have been so busy. I have new belly shots to upload, and pictures of moving into the nursery, and pictures of the nursery, so look for another update shortly (today/tomorrow). Anyway, so much has happened. As you probably remember, we had our anniversary a few weekends ago -- which was wonderful. Then, the weekend after that (October 4 - 5) was a weekend full of surprises (I have pictures coming of this, too, hopefully). It started with my Aunt Peg (my mom's sister) and my Uncle John (my mom's brother -- to whom she donated her kidney to three years ago in September -- time flies!) and Roy all came over to our house on Friday night. Then, we went to Auntie Anne's house where she, my mom and my sister-in-law, Auntie Brandi, threw us a surprise shower. The food was fabulous, but the company was better. We laughed a lot and had a blast! And, we got our car seat (we can take Baby Liby home for the hospital) and our highchair, an adorable quilt and some great decorations for Baby's room ... what a blessing!
On the way to my sister's house that night, Uncle John told me that he wanted to take me shopping the next day for a gift for Baby Liby. On Saturday, I woke up early and painted stuff of the Nursery (a mother's job is never done, right?!) and got ready. Uncle John and Roy picked me up around 11:00. We went to grab a quick bite to eat (which, Uncle John and Roy took forever at!!) and headed to Babies R' Us. We get into the store, and UJ tells me that he thinks that diapers are on sale (as you may/may not know, diapers are all of the way in the back of the store), so we head to diapers. We get there, and well, diapers are not on sale. I really didn't think anything of it, and we head back up to the front of the store. While walking, we hear a page for UJ and me to meet our party at the front of the store. Again, didn't think anything of it since Grammy Rose and Aunt Peg were supposed to meet us at the store. Curiously, as we are walking towards the front, I notice a man walking directly towards me and I am thinking to myself, "Uncle Beans? Is that him? What is he doing here? He's supposed to be in St. Louis." And it was! My Uncle Bernie (my mom's brother) was in Babies R' Us -- looking very stylish with his cool dude sunglasses on (Uncle Beans has worn glasses since forever, but he recently had eye surgery and can now see without glasses). Again, I thought it was strange, but didn't think much into it. Now, UJ, Roy, Uncle Beans and I are walking to the front of the store. We walk around the corner to the service desk, and I notice Grampy Fred is like hiding behind a store shelf with someone else. I am thinking, "What are they doing?" when all of the sudden ...
SURPRISE!!
A ton of my family members jump out from behind the store shelves and surprise me (good thing I wasn't closer to my due date, or else this might have sent me into labor!!). I had cousins, aunts and uncles, all from St. Louis, surrounding me and giving me a Surprise Baby Shower Shopping Spree at Babies R' Us ... ohmygosh! It was such a blast -- and a HUGE blessing! We had so much fun throwing things in carts and then going through and deciding what to get! Then, we went back to our house, and my Aunts and Uncles helped me clean up some things (they even washed some of my windows!!) and they rearranged my living room while Tim and Grammy Rose worked in the nursery.
After that, we went back to my sister's house, and they had a little shower with mostaccioli that my Aunt Peggy made -- honestly, one of my most favorite meals ever! -- and brought with her from St. Louis and another gift of adorable clothes for Baby Liby. After all of that, we ended the night by a warm fire, laughing, talking and just hanging. It was such a blast! I appreciate, so much, the effort made by my family members to make a special weekend just for Baby Liby and me ... it was a true honor and blessing and I will not forget it. God has given me a wonderful family.
This past weekend, Tim and I went to my 10-year high school reunion ... that was a great time. I can hardly believe it has been 10 years since I walked the halls of Gobles High School. I was able to see many classmates (some that I haven't seen since graduation) and catch up with them. Since I was Class President, I had to steer the planning on this (which I did with the help of a dear high school friend, Mitch Blink), so I am happy it is done, just because it was pretty busy leading up to it -- and my adorable maternity dress called for heels ... that wasn't painless! :) Overall, though, it was great!
Last week, we had a Doctor's appointment, and all checked out well. My blood pressure was fine, and Linda was happy with where we are at. Baby Liby's heartbeat was around 154 bpm. We go again tomorrow.
We are officially 39 weeks and 3 days ... wow!
I'll update again soon (unless Baby Liby comes) so check back! Oh, and, Grampy Fred is at the doctors right now ... we are praying he comes out with a walking cast!!!
Love,
Katie

Oh the Joys of ...
Tim and I had a fabulous weekend this weekend ... celebrating anniversary number 5! We spent Saturday/Sunday at a artsy, beach-town called Saugatuck, at a cute little bed and breakfast. We spent the day walking around Saugatuck shops, watched the sunset, had a fabulous dinner, and just relaxed ... it was so much fun!
On our way home on Sunday, we made our annual trip to Crane's Apple Orchard and picked apples. We also got the ever-delicious apple cider donuts ... yummy!! Here's Baby Liby and me picking some Golden Delicious apples ...
Can you see Tim? He insisted on getting the "best" apples from the center of the tree (he wasn't wrong ... they are delicious!!)
Despite bed rest, everything checked out a-okay with Baby Liby yesterday. Heartbeat was 154 bpm when we started to check, and it accelerated all the way up to the 170's in the 30 seconds we listened. Again, the midwife stated that this was excellent, and a sign of a healthy baby. Now, we just need to keep me healthy!!
Well, that is all for now ... hopefully, we will get a good report today at the doctor's office, and this bed rest stuff will be behind us!
